Are you looking for some cheap hotels in Cebu City?
I’ve listed some cheap accommodations in Cebu along with some higher priced hotels for you to choose from.
These are five of the more popular hotels in Cebu City and nearby areas:
1. Holiday Plaza Hotel
Ranking: Mid-range
Location: F. Ramos Street, Cebu City, 6000
Holiday Plaza is an older hotel in Cebu City that is in a very good location for sightseeing, shopping, dining, or bar hopping. For an additional charge you can include their breakfast buffet. Free WIFI is included with your stay.
2. Cebu Business Hotel
Ranking: Budget
Location: Junquera St., Cebu City, Cebu,
Cebu Business Hotel is more for the budget traveler. Comfortable rooms at a cheap price. Located in the busy heart of downtown Cebu City along Colon Street, the oldest street in the Philippines. Be aware that this area is known for pickpockets and other crime so be sure to keep an eye on your surroundings while outside.
3. Marco Polo Plaza
Ranking: High End
Location: Nivel Hills, Cebu Veterans Drive, Cebu City, Cebu 6000
Marco Polo Plaza is a nice, clean, very secure, and professionally run hotel located in the hills where you can get a great view of the island from your hotel room. It’s out of the way from the hustle and bustle of the city. The food served at the hotel restaurant here is excellent. You can also relax as you lounge by the pool.
4. Cebu View Tourist Inn
Ranking: Budget
Location: 200 Sanciangko Street, Cebu City, Cebu
Located in the very crowded, busy area of Downtown Cebu. This no frills hotel is good if you’re traveling on a tight budget. As of now, you can get a basic room with aircon, TV, and shower for about 790 pesos or approximately $18 US. Some rooms have no windows so make sure you check first. You will often hear the sounds of the outside traffic in your room so if you’re a light sleeper this may not be the place for you. I do not recommend walking around this area at night.
5. The Crown Regency Hotel and Towers
Ranking: Mid range to high end
Location: Osmeña Blvd, Cebu City, Cebu
This hotel is currently the tallest building in the Philippines outside of Metro Manila, This Cebu hotel has it all. Choose from 9 restaurants and bars in the hotel to suit your mood or take a walk to other venues close by. It’s located right in the center of Cebu City near Osmeña Circle. Amenities also include a full gym, a 4D theater and a sky observatory. If you’re really brave you can try going to the roof of the hotel for the Sky Walk where you can walk around a ledge of the hotel and while harnessed in, or take a seat in the Sky Coaster where you will ride around the rim of the top of the hotel getting a bird’s eye view of the city below.
Cebu man, how about safety, i know a few people who had not a to good of experience in the philippines. how is that now a days?
Hi.
Thanks for asking. That’s a great question and it’s a topic I plan on covering in more detail here very soon.
I think the Philippines has gotten a bad rap in regards to the safety there.
Is there danger? Yes, of course there is. But there’s danger everyplace in the world and I don’t see the Philippines as being any more dangerous than anywhere else. People just need to realize that there is a high poverty level there and that can sometimes make people do desperate things.
So you can have the best time of your life there but be wise and always be aware of your surroundings. Don’t wear expensive jewelry or clothing, don’t flash around expensive electronic devices, etc.
I’ve been going to the Philippines once or twice a year since 1997 and I’ve only had a couple incidences where I felt threatened and I got out of them both safely. One of those situations was partially my fault for being in an area of Manila that I shouldn’t have been in the first place. The other was with a drunk Filipino on Negros Island which I just ignored him and he eventually went away.
The truth is, I’m safer walking around Cebu City at 2 AM than I am at noontime in a city near my hometown in the U.S.
Cebu Man
Hi Pete,
Thanks for the great information on Cebu in the Philippines – I have been to other islands there though Cebu was one I always had a great interest in and you have added to my interest. “Cebu Bound” in the future:)
Thank you
Grant
Hello Grant,
You’re welcome my friend.
There are so many beautiful locations within the Philippines and I’ve been fortunate to have been able to visit many of them. But Cebu is where my heart is and I always find my way back there.
